ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS AND OBLIGATIONS OF PARTICIPANTS IN BB Ramblers ACTIVITIES

In voluntarily participating in an activity of BB Ramblers, I am aware that my participation in this activity may expose me to risks that could lead to injury, illness or death or to loss of or damage to my property. Those risks include, but are not limited to, slippery and/or uneven rocks, rocks being dislodged, cliffs, exposure to weather & white-out conditions, falling and hypothermia.

To minimize these risks I have endeavoured to ensure that:

Medical

  1. I have up to date emergency information stored in my mobile phone in the Health app.
  2. In my backpack I am carrying a card protected by plastic bag or laminated, which details my health conditions / medication – to be accessed and viewed only in emergency.
  3. I have advised the activity leader if I am taking any medication or have any physical or other limitation that might affect my participation in the activity.

IT IS THE ADVICE OF OUR UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION BUSHWALKING VICTORIA THAT ALL WALKERS SHOULD ARRANGE THEIR OWN AMBULANCE INSURANCE COVER.
While B’nai B’rith Ramblers obtains accident insurance for all its members and casual visitors, the costs of aerial rescue may SUBSTANTIALLY exceed limits of this cover. Ambulance Victoria membership provides cover throughout Australia

Preparedness

  1. This activity is within my capabilities.
  2. I am carrying food, water and equipment appropriate for the activity.
  3. Where an emergency contact has been appointed, I have advised next of kin contact details, who should be contacted if there is a worry regarding my late return time.

Walk protocols

  1. I will read closely the walk notes issued for each walk I wish to participate in, and
  2. I will advise the leader of any concerns I am having and
  3. I will comply with all reasonable instructions of the walk leader and other instructions of BB Ramblers provided to me prior to the walk
  4. I will make every effort to remain with the rest of the party during the activity and accept the instructions of the leader of the activity.
  5. I will arrive for the walk at the published meeting time or earlier
  6. I will be ready to depart at the published departure time to ensure that I do not keep the rest of the group waiting. I realise that these times have been selected to allow for a timely return.

Privacy

We collect/keep email addresses and/or mobile phone numbers and we may ask you for your street address for transport purposes.
We disclose your email address to other walk registrants in the walk that you have registered, for coordination and shared transport purposes. You need to advise if you do not want this information to be shared with the walk participants.
